Overview
The Miracord 50 is a manual turntable, which means you place the needle onto the record by hand, giving you complete control of vinyl playback. The aluminum die-cast platter is spun via a belt-drive motor. The belt-drive motor, being isolated from the platter, helps to keep vibration through the tonearm at a minimum.
Speaking of tonearms, the Miracord 50 features an aluminum tube, static-balanced tonearm with anti-skate adjustment to help avoid skipping. At the end of the tonearm is an Audio-Technica AT91 moving magnet cartridge with a bonded diamond stylus. In order to keep the record player clean when not in use, ELAC has provided a removable dust cover.
Anti-Resonant Chassis
ELAC has engineered the Miracord 50 to provide you with a stable, isolated chassis that is meant to minimize wow and flutter, and help prevent vibration and feedback from passing through the tonearm and affecting your music.
ELAC does this with a combination of technologies, such as the low-noise DC servo motor, the high-inertia aluminum platter, special rubber record mat, and rubber belt of the belt drive system.
