Overview
Acoustic systems ELAC WS 1425 are small in size and are made in a closed case, designed for wall mounting. Thanks to its shallow depth and white or black matt finishes, it will be invisible in the interior, even without the in-wall installation that recessed acoustics require.
ELAC WS 1425 has a two-way configuration, with the tweeter installed above the woofer. The tweeter is equipped with a soft fabric dome with a diameter of 20 mm, and the woofer is equipped with a proprietary AS oval cone. The emitters in the column are not located coaxially, but with a precisely calculated offset, thanks to which the speaker’s radiation pattern has been expanded. The tweeter is mounted on a special insert that dampens parasitic resonances and works as an acoustic splitter. The crossover filter in the ELAC WS 1425 is set to a fairly high frequency of 2900 Hz, which improves the uniformity of the frequency response in the voice range. The input connector block (a pair of gold-plated screw terminals) is installed in a recess on the rear panel, so the cables do not interfere with the tight pressing of the speakers to the wall. The ELAC WS 1425 case has deep internal damping, thanks to which its walls do not vibrate even at high sound volumes.
The column is distinguished by a very high quality of workmanship, and is completed with a fabric protective grid, which is fixed on magnetic holders. For wall mounting, there is one bracket on the back of the speaker, so it can be easily aligned. ELAC WS 1425 can be used in the rear channels of a home theater system, or in stereo systems (in this case it is recommended to supplement the speakers with a subwoofer), they have a stable impedance and quite sufficient sensitivity. The speakers have a neutral tonal balance with smooth mids and extended highs that give the sound airiness and expressiveness. Based on the speaker data, you can create an audio system with a versatile sound character, suitable for listening to music of various genres.
