Overview
JBL designed its HDI-1200P subwoofer to be different. Different in terms of having the ability to provide powerful dynamics while maintaining stopwatch-like accuracy. Different in its penchant to play with a visceral quality that adds to the realism of both music and movies. And different in avoiding the boom-and-sizzle falseness and clumpy distortion that expose many subwoofers as one-dimensional components.
Engineered in JBL’s famous California acoustic facility, HDI-1200P serves as the final touch on a world-class HDI-based surround or two-channel system. Inside, a 12-inch driver takes advantage of the core JBL transducer DNA found in the HDI woofers, delivering mammoth output with significantly reduced distortion. The driver is also based on a cast-aluminum frame that supports a large Symmetrical Field ceramic motor structure with a vented pole using flared exits. A three-inch long-throw voice coil fuels the high-density Poly-plas cone. And the entire assembly comes Klippel- and FEA- optimized.
Guided by a 1,000-watt amplifier with RCA and XLR line-level inputs, HDI-1200P goes low and pumps out 1,000 Watts RMS with significant peak power output to handle even the largest demands. A full complement of controls allow you to tailor it for any room or system configuration. Gain and low-pass crossover settings accompany a selectable phase switch and single-band parametric EQ. Want seamless integration into your setup? Simply select the auto power switch or 12V trigger input with pass-thru output.
Built with elegant lines, HDI-1200P blends in with any décor. Its heavily braced enclosure offers a solid acoustic foundation, while the curved cabinet echoes with modernism that also showcases the absence of any screws or fasteners. Whether you choose the automotive-grade high-gloss black finish or furniture-grade satin walnut or gray oak veneers, you’ll be in the presence of luxury.
